A popular Fort Myers recreational area is Lakes Park. There are 158 out of the 279-acres that have fresh water canoeing, fishing for catfish and bass, and swimming. Lifeguards are on duty beginning Memorial Day to Labor Day. There is a 2.5 mile paved path for biking, roller blades, or running. The Fragrance Garden is a unique experience for the senses. Showers, boat rentals, miniature train rides, concession stands, and picnic areas are available. Pets and alcohol are not allowed.
